Hi,
I'm Michael, a husband, a father of three, beard fanatic, and hopefully soon a Blacksmith. This is my first blog, so I apologize in advance for grammatical errors, misuse of words, and probably a million other things that I will do wrong while blogging. I am not a professional writer, I am just a guy who thought he might share his journey of becoming a Blacksmith in hopes to maybe inspire someone that was thinking of starting a journey of their own.
A little about me: I have been married to my wife Jessica, for five years and we have 3 wonderful kids. They range in ages from 6 months to 12 years which means for the most part we are tired 95% of the time. This also means that the hobbies I used to enjoy have been put on the back burner. I love my kids to the ends of the earth and back, but I realized that I needed some "me" time or I would go insane.
I have been thinking about taking up the art of blacksmithing for quite some time and with the recent passing of my father, who was an iron worker and all around man's man, I figured the time to start was now. This blog will document my journey of becoming a blacksmith, outlined with things I pick up along the way. So, where does the "bearded" come into play? I have an obsession with my beard, other dudes beards, and anything in the category of beards. I am an avid beard oil, beard balm, beard shampoo, and anything else you can think of that involves a beard, purchaser. In some of my blogs I will review any new beard product that I try in hopes that it may help all fellow beard enthusiast that may be reading my blog.
I plan on blogging every few days unless something incredible happens that I have to share right away. My next blog will be all about how I started this blacksmithing journey and the first piece of equipment that I purchased. I am committed to doing this I am selling my golf clubs to help fund this. Golf used to be my main hobby, but just as life changes, so do hobbies. Don't be afraid to try something new and don't let anyone tell you that it can't be done. The only one that can keep you from succeeding is you, don't be your own roadblock.

Awesome!!! and inspirational . Cant wait to see what you build. Eric S CT
